| Well summer is definately here! The last week of June here in our part of the state was HOT and HUMID. It proved to be too much for some cattle in our area. Several feedlots have had losses. I even heard that some cow/calf producers had losses with cows and/or calves. Fortunately, our cattle seemed to flow through this heat wave in really good shape. |

| Kenton Douglas Ford graduated from Orient-Macksburg High School on May 17, 2009. He is planning to attend the University of Dubuque majoring in Flight Operations and become a Commercial/Corporate Pilot. Everyone is excited about Kenton going to college and wish him the best! We will be moving him to Dubuque at the end of August. | ||||

3rd in Class for Middleweight Market Steer Exhibited by Kevin Ford at the 2008 Adair County Fair Kevin was pleasantly surprised with his 3rd in class finish in a very tough Middleweight class! That is a great finish for a first time steer exhibitor!! The judge really appreciated this steers' length and structure. This calf came out of our 2007 calf crop. |

2nd in Class finish and 6th Overall Rate of Gain Market Calf Exhibited by Tyler Blaudow at the 2008 Marion County Fair Tyler had a great year with his Kool / Gold Spear bred Market Steer purchased at our 2007 sale! Tyler stated that the 6th place Rate of Gain finish was out of over 40 calves! Congratulations Tyler! |
